Easter Sunrise Service at Red Rocks

Red Rocks is an amphitheater located Morrison, CO, which is right outside of Denver. Many great music shows are held here. Movies are also shown during the warm months for Film on the Rocks. We hope to attend a show or see a movie before we leave, but we also heard the Easter Sunrise Service was one not to miss. Waking up at 4:00 am, sitting in traffic, climbing the steep and numerous stairs, then waiting in the cold for an hour was TOTALLY worth it! What an experience. The view, the sermon, the music were all so moving. Even the releasing of doves was beautiful (remember, I am NOT a bird lover).

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Colorado Fly Fishing Trip

Colorado is landlocked...as I am sure you are aware. This means no beautiful ocean or sandy beach. But we have quickly learned that does not mean there is a shortage of water activities here. Last Saturday we had a blast fly fishing in the mountains. I am not avid fisherman fisherwoman by any means, but I wanted to be a good sport and participate in something that Zack wanted to do. By the end of this trip, I was "hooked," no pun intended! Our guide, Ken, was so personable, patient and knowledgeable. What was only suppose to be a half day trip turned into a full day of fishing. We had such a great time that we decided to buy two rods. Zack and I have our own hobbies, but fly fishing might just turn into something that we can equally enjoy together. Here are a few photos from our trip...

I got in!!!

To nursing school, that is! I was so anxious to get home last Thursday, when Zack picked me up from volunteering at the National MS Society office. I knew "the news" was suppose to be coming in the mail some time during the week. I was completely at peace if I saw a small business envelope in our mailbox. But to my astonishment, there was a large envelope sticking out the top of our small metal black mailbox (the kind that is attached to the house beside the door...so convenient on those snowy days). I was in total shock, and I think I still kind of am. For those who don't know, I applied twice before, and this was going to be my last time. I guess third time really is the charm. Like I said, I had come to terms with the possibility of not getting in. What I was going to do if I didn't get was still a bit of a mystery, but we both had been praying and trusting that God had a plan for me. Looks like I will be heading to school this fall to start the Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) program at Cape Fear Community College. I want to thank my wonderful husband, family and friends for the support and words of encouragement over the years! You had more faith in me than I had in myself!
